About Me:
I’m dad to two young kids who love going to school! I do mathematical models and simulations at work. I love walking, cycling and making fun projects using useful parts from waste electronics/electrical items.
-
My pronouns are:
He/him/his
-
How I use Maths in my work:
I use calculus, matrix algebra and complex numbers to represent physical systems in an abstract form. This captures their behaviour rather than their actual physical form.
-
My Work:
Modelling and simulation for control system design.
-
My Typical Day:
I wake up, freshen up and have breakfast. Then I make kids lunches and get their school dresses ready. I wake them up, get them ready, and drop them off to school after their breakfast and set off to work. I come back from work in the evening, have dinner, play with my kids, help them with their homework, read them bedtime story and we all go to bed afterwards. 🙂 I work from home some days and work in the office the other days.
-
What I'd do with the prize money:
I would set up an electronics hobby library for young children where they can build their own robots, program them and do some cool experiments!
-
Education:
I went to a school called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in India.
Then I came to UK in 2005 to do Aerospace Engineering degree which then I switched to Mechanical Engineering.
I worked as a placement student during my undergrad degree, known as sandwich placement before finishing my degree.
After finishing my BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, I did a PhD.
-
Qualifications:
BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering with sandwich placement.
PhD in Systems Approaches to Enhance Performance and Applicability of Microbial Fuel Cells.

Work History:
2005 – 2010. I worked as a crew member and then later shift manager in McDonalds restaurent. This taught me how processes are important and taught me management, equally important even when organising an experiment!

2015 – 2021. I worked as a researchers in multiple universities.
2021 – 2022. I went to develop control system for a manufaturing machine that built aerospace and automobile parts. This was in a start up company.
2022 – 2024. I worked as a control systems engineer developing and programming autonomous flight control systems for UAVs.
