I live in Sunderland with my family and I’m a Data Scientist, as well as a Computer Science Student at Newcastle University. I have loved technology from when I first used Scratch in primary school, and I love being able to make the world better through technology! 🌎
I love to get outside as much as possible, and will often be found walking my dog, Mabel at the beach, but if the weather is bad, I am normally curled up with a book. I own over 200 books, and would love to have a mini library inside my house one day!
I also love to sing – my favourite song to sing is ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by Queen 🎤

My job is all about making work easier for others. Other teams from the business will tell me about a part of their work that they are struggling with and that they feel could be made digital, for example they might have a paper form and I will make it into a computer form instead. I make apps that help others to work better.
-
My Typical Day:
I wake up at 6:30 and get the train to the office for 8:30. I spend my day making apps and computer programs, until 12 o’clock when I have lunch with my friends, and then back to working on my computer until 4:30. I get the train home, and then walk my dog at around 5:30 🐶

What I'd do with the prize money:
I would give the money to my primary school for them to buy some cool new computers – this is where my love of computer science started, so I would love to give something back as a thank you!
-
Education:
I went to Monkwearmouth Academy in Sunderland for secondary school – at the time this school was rated ‘Inadequate’ by Ofsted, but I never let that stop my dreams! I then went to St Roberts Sixth Form where I did Computer Science, Chemistry and Biology, and I am now a student at Newcastle University, studying Computer Science. I will graduate from university in September 2025.
