I spent years at university studying Chemistry. When I finished, I knew that the last thing I wanted to do any more was Chemistry so I changed. And that is perfectly fine. There is nothing saying that you can’t change your mind at any time. And given how life can throw us curveballs from time to time, I expect that you will change your mind and go off in a different direction at some time.
I didn’t even know my job existed when I was younger. I thought that all biologists worked in science labs or counted insects in fields. When I discovered computational biology, where you create computer models of biological systems then you can test effects of drugs or differences between cells, I found the idea really interesting and it was an area which used different skills I had, like maths and programming, but was still within biology.
I would always advise just following anything you enjoy because sometimes there are jobs out there which you didn’t even know existed and sometimes you suddenly find a project you really enjoy which is not what you would have ever picked in the first place. Especially in science, the most important thing is that you are interested in the subject and you enjoy finding things out about the subject. If you have that interest and that want to discover, you will find the right job to suit you out there.
