It depends on what you mean by ‘maths inclusive’. My role only involves fairly limited maths, but when I do use it then it is important. I used C1V1=C2V2 a LOT during my PhD, and understanding dilutions and concentration calculations was very important in a lab environment. My current job involves less maths than it used to, but I’m using it more in my research projects (mostly descriptive stats).
It’s great – you don’t have to do the sums in your head, there is usually a program or excel spreadsheet setup for you or you are given the tools to create your own programs to help with your work.
