      I was good at it and I am lazy so I decided it was easier to keep working at something I was good at, than get something I was bad at up to standard.

      This is a great trait to have as a mathematician. A lot of maths is looking for shortcuts in how to do something. We don’t try to solve the problem in front of us all the way, we try to change that problem into one someone has already found an answer for so we can use solution that already exists.
